Yesterday, Refectorio Restaurant at Hotel Convento La Magdalena welcomed a dozen national bloggers and journalists who visited Antequera thanks to the gastronomy event, "Nos Comemos Malaga". Their aim was to discover first-hand the cuisine of David Muñoz, who is famed for being one of the top chefs in the Province of Malaga.

 

Among the known names invited were Pepe Ferrer, from "El Mundo", Javier Compás, from "El Correo de Andalucía", Cristina Martínez, from “Garbancita”, Arancha López, from “Málagasecome.es”, Remedios Reina, from “Alsurdelsur.net”, Miguel Ánguel Almodóvar, from “Vinos y Restaurantes”, Joaquín del Palacio, from “Conmuchagula.com”, and Estíbaliz Redondo, from “Al-Salmorejo.com”.

 

These professionals visited all the facilities and discovered the history of this convent, which has been converted into a 5-star rural hotel. Welcome drinks took place in the convent's old cloisters and lunch followed in Refectorio Restaurant where everyone enjoyed the stunning views and the delicious menu with regional products from Antequera and Malaga. David Muñoz explained each recipe they were trying, with the main course being Malaga young goat.

 

Today, the impact of social media means that today's event reached more than 9 million people. The true importance of the diffusion of the day's proceedings via the great gastronomy critics in other media forms is still to be confirmed.

 

"Nos Comemos Málaga" is a professional event for journalists and bloggers specialising in gastronomy information in which they aim to raise awareness of the gastronomical richness of Malaga and its province, in addition to the tourism resources available here. The event took place 27-30 March.
